Handmade, modern and historical metal and leatherwork.

Aurora Bio

Aurora Simmons has always been a maker, and she began working with metal in the form of chainmail jewellery and sewing in high-school. She is a professional goldsmith and after many years of learning and experimentation she is also an avid historical and modern costumer, regularly making modern and historical clothing for herself and others. She has also worked as a costumer for The Dance Migration dance company.  She has worked as a camp councilor for children and teens, run chainmail seminars at her old highschool, Inglenook, helps to run historical education school shows, through the not-for-profit Hoplologia and teaches historical martial arts to adults. She has always found crafting to be a route to sanity in a crazy world, and loves to be able to share her skills with others.

She believes that humanity expresses itself best through the creation of beautiful things and wants to help bring craft back to the world. She sees each act of creation as an adventure, and is always happy to roll with the challenges of complex new projects, whether in business or craft.
